ABOUT

The Western Organization for People Living with HIV/AIDS (WOPLAH) is based out of Mumias, Kenya. One of WOPLAH's partner organizations is Colorado College's Public and Global Health Club (CCPGH). CCPGH is a student run organization that works with both local and global programs to expand our knowledge of health in a global context.

The goal of CCPGH is to assist WOPLAH not just by providing funds, but by working actively as partners to design and implement projects, to record and analyze the success of these projects, and to constantly communicate and learn from one another.

WOPLAH is run by Ambassadors of Hope (AOH's), who are trained individuals in each community that can help run the several projects WOPLAH has initiated. These projects are community health dialogues, goat rearing, the jiggers campaign, kitchen gardens, poulty rearing, fish farming, dairy farming, mushroom farming, and village banking. For more details on each project, see the blog post dedicated to them!

The WOPLAH blog is an effort to keep people informed and up-to-date on the happenings of both WOPLAH and GlobeMed at CC. It features posts from both parties.
