WOPLAH's Allies

LGBT Outreach

WOPLAH provides biomedical services and empowerment opportunities for members of the LGBT and MSM communities. WOPLAH hopes to create support groups comprised solely of LGBT people. WOPLAH has a team that offers moonlight testing, which provides safe and confidential HIV testing. WOPLAH also wants to create funding for sensitization meetings. These events would invite police, landlords, health care provides, village elders, and other community members to learn about  the struggles LGBT and MSM face in daily life.

WOPLAH is excited to be participating in the Article 25 Day of Action on October 25th. Article 25's goal is to unite people and organizations from all parts of the world in a mass demonstration for global health to demand more fair and just health systems. We would like to invite anyone interested to join our activities on October 25th, or to start your own. Please follow our facebook page for updates on WOPLAH's day of action.
WOPLAH is proud to announce that several of our beneficiaries will be participating in Story of a Girl, a project that provides women a platform on which to share their personal stories about living positively with HIV/AIDs. The Story of a Girl project shares our firm belief that those living with HIV/AIDs are defined by far more than their status. The website contains a collection of self filmed personal videos, text, photographs, and other media from all over the globe as well as narrative professional films. WOPLAH encourages you to take a moment to view how international aid and access to medicine have empowered women living positively in Mumias, in Africa, and in the world.
